NSW’s Start Strong funding Affordable Preschool Fee Relief Program
The NSW Government introduced Start Strong funding in 2023 to provide fee relief for families with children aged 4 years and above through the NSW Start Strong Program. The Affordable Preschool initiative encourages enrolment in the two years before school by offering substantial financial support. The Start Strong fee relief 2024 will continue for early learning centers and extended day care services, helping families reduce preschool costs.
How Does the Start Strong Fee Relief Program for Long Day Care Services Work?
Starting from January 2024, families with eligible children can save significantly on preschool fees. For children aged 4 years on or before 31 July 2024, families can save up to $2,110. For children aged 3 years but not yet 4 years on or before 31 July 2024 (birthdates between 1 August 2020 and 31 July 2021), savings of up to $500 are available.
The fee relief is evenly distributed throughout the year and reflected in reductions on fortnightly statements. For example, a 4-year-old attending between January and June 2024 will receive the allocated fee relief for those six months.
Start Strong Funding Eligibility
To qualify for the Start Strong funding in 2024, children must meet the following criteria:
